Abstract
This is a case presentation of a teenage girl presenting with an altered level of consciousness and a seizure preceded by fever and a limp. In the absence of a clear cause for the unresponsiveness, including inconclusive examination findings, further investigations were ordered including non-contrast CT brain. It showed evidence of cerebral venous thrombosis with thalamic infarcts. Anticoagulation treatment was started immediately and there was good response to treatment. Further analysis revealed severe anaemia which was attributed to iron deficiency due to prolong menstruation and poor dietary iron.
