Abstract:

A light emitting material 2-phenylimidazo [4,5-f]-(1,10)-phenanthroline zinc complex has been synthesized. Its structure, energy band, photoluminescent and thermal properties were charaterized by elemental analysis,1H-NMR, Uv-vis absorption, photoluminescent spectra and thermogravimetric technique. The experimental results showed that the complex had a good thermal stability.UV-vis absorption bands of the complex were located at about 207,276,297nm. Its optical gap was 3.08eV. The maximum emitting wavelength was 490nm, which indicates that this complex is an excellent blue-emitting material.
