Abstract
When a pigeon trained on a fixed-interval 1 min reinforcement schedule was prefed 20 g of mixed grain prior to his daily session, his response rate was much lower than when he was not prefed. An index of the temporal distribution of responses within the interval, the quarter-life, was moderately related to deprivation level.
