우리 사회는 대학 교원에게 4차 산업혁명시대의 사회가 요구하는 융·복합 역량을 갖춘 인재를 양성할 것을 요구한다. 따라서 대학 교원의 전문성 발달은 대학교육혁신에서 주요 과제이며, 교수 역량의 발달과정에 대한 이해가 필요하다. K대학의 교과 연계형 비교과 프로그램(CUBE)은 정규교육과정(전공, 교양)과 연결고리 확립을 목적으로 한다. 그래서 이번 연구는 비교과 교육과 교과 교육이라는 두 영역이 중첩되는 교육현장을 배경으로 하는 질적 사례연구로, 연구 참여자는 생물공학전공 소속의 두 교수이다. 이 연구에서는 대학에서 교과와 연계한 비교과 프로그램을 운영한 교수의 경험에서 학생들을 어떻게 가르치는지에 대한 질적 현상을 드러내고, 비교과 교육의 발전 방향을 모색하고자 한다. 이 연구에서 교원 역량 강화단계에 있는 두 교수의 경험은 수업을 매개로 하는 알아차림, 풀어가기, 또 다른 시작이 순환하는 수업 개선 과정으로 구성된다. 이러한 과정은 ‘수업 잘하기’와 ‘연구지도 잘하기’라는 수업성찰로 볼 수 있다. 나아가 연구 참여자의 수업성찰은 교수 전문성 발달과 밀접하며, 연구 참여자의 교수경험은 학습자를 위한 ‘문턱 낮추기’ 라는 교육적 의미를 갖는다.
Our society requires university faculty to cultivate talents with convergence capabilities, which is needed by the society undergoing the fourth industrial revolution. Therefore, the professional development of university faculty is an important part of university innovation, and it is necessary to understand the development process of faculty competency. The purpose of the CUBE course is to try and help a link between the regular curriculum (major and liberal arts) and the extra-curricular program. Therefore, this study delineates the story of the educational field in which the two areas of study, the curriculum and extra-curriculum, overlap. This study is based on qualitative research, and the participants are professors of Biotechnology. This study aims to reveal the qualitative phenomena of how to teach students using the experiences of professors, who operated programs related to their subjects at universities and seek directions for the development of extra-education. This study portrays the experiences of two professors in the teacher empowerment phase; these experiences comprise teaching-based awareness, resolution, and a new foundation. It is a cyclical course improvement process. This process can be understood through class reflections such as “excellent class” and “supervising research.” Furthermore, the class reflections of research participants are closely related to the development of teaching expertise. This teaching experience has an educational meaning of “lowering the threshold” for learners.
