    Abstract

The authors reviewed the CT fidings of clinically & histopathologically proven 31 cases of orbital masses seenat the Chonnam National University Hospital from June 1983 to August 1989, to find characteristic findings anddifferential points among masses. There were 3 cases in intraocular, 6 cases in itraconal, 15 cases in extraconaland 7 cases in extraorbital space. The results were as follows: 1. The characteristic findings of masses were calcification in retinoblastoma, fatty density in dermoid cyst and strong contrast enhancement in cavernoushemangioma. 2. In lacrimal region, pleomorphic adenoma was round mass with mass effect and pseudolymphoma wasoblong mass to mold itself to adjacent structures without mass effect. 3. Pseudotumor was irregular mass withmultifocal infiltration and no mass effect. 4. Mucocele was expansile homogeneous mass without contrast enhancement.
