    Abstract

The main purpose of the excretory urogram(IVP) is to delineate the anatomy of the urinary tract. A clinicaland radiological analysis, especially the measurement of the cortical scarring change was made by 101 case ofacute pyelonephritis, 59 chronic pyelonephritis, and 100 normal adult cases. And we had significant result inanalysis of radiological finding of chronic and acute pyelonephritis. 1. Female was more afected than male inabout 4 times inn acute and chronic pyelonephritis. 2. E-coli was most common pathogen in acute and chronicpyelonephrits. 3. Common IVP findings of acute pyelonephritis were ill-defined calyces, decreased density ofpyelogram, and infundibular spasm. 4. The relative renal substance to kidney length is about 46.4% in normalKorean adults and signifiantly decreased in chrnoic pyelonephritis. 5. The distribution of scars follows severalpattern. A single scar may occur anywhere but is most commonly found in the right upper pole than in the otherpoles. The most frequent scarring is generalized scarring. the right side is more affected than left side.
