The Evaluation of the Treatment of Mechanic Ileus Caused by Foreign Body (Ear Ring) and It’s Postoperative Results: 6 Cases

or non pricking foreign bodies are common in domestic animals’ stomach and
intestine. It is reported that operation is the most reliable treatment method
of obstruction caused by foreign body. Six Turkish Sepherd dogs (4 male, 2
female) referred to Eriyes University Veterinary Faculty Animal Hospital were
used as material. After clinical, laboratory examination and operative
preparation the animals were operated on. In operations, the foreign bodies
were found in pylorus (2 cases) and in ileum (4 cases). At the controls on the
30th and 60th days in postoperative periods, no
complication was seen in any of the animals. In this study detected foreign
bodies detected were sheep ear rings. The identified foreign bodies showed the
need to pay attention to the foods given to the animals for feeding purposes.
Furthermore, it was once again demonstrated that gastrointestinal foreign
bodies could not be clearly identified in the light of laboratory findings, and
therefore it should be supported by imaging methods. It is concluded that
radiographic imaging is necessary and sufficient for the detection of the
radiopaque bodies.

Köpeklerde Yabancı Cisme (Kulak Küpesi) Bağlı Şekillenen Mekanik İleus’un Operatif Sağaltım ve Sonuçlarının Değerlendirilmesi: 6 Olgu

hayvanların mide ve bağırsaklarında batıcı ve batıcı olmayan yabancı cisimlere
oldukça sık rastlanılmaktadır. Yabancı cisimlerin yol açtığı tıkanmalarda en
güvenilir sağaltım yönteminin operasyon olduğu bildirilmektedir. Çalışma
materyalini Erciyes Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Hayvan Hastanesine
getirilen 6 (4 erkek, 2 dişi) adet kangal köpeği oluşturdu. Klinik ve laboratuvar
muayenesi yapılan hayvanlar rutin operasyon hazırlıkları tamamlandıktan sonra
operasyona alındı. Yapılan operasyonlarda yabancı cismin 2 olguda piloriste,
diğer 4 olguda ise ileumda olduğu tespit edildi. Postoperatif 30. ve 60. günlerde kontrolleri yapılan hayvanların
tamamen düzelmiş olduğu ve herhangi bir komplikasyon şekillenmediği görüldü.
Sunulan bu çalışmada, köpeklerde tespit edilen
yabancı cismin koyun kulak küpesi olduğu görüldü. Tespit edilen yabancı
cisimler hayvanlara beslenme amacı ile verilen gıdalara dikkat edilmesi gerekliliğini gösterdi. Ayrıca gastrointestinal
yabancı cisimlerin laboratuvar bulguları ışığında net olarak tespit edilmesinin güçlüğü ve bu
nedenle görüntüleme yöntemleri ile desteklenmesi gerektiği bir kez daha
ortaya koyuldu. Özellikle radyoopak cisimlerin tespiti için radyografik
görüntülemenin gerekli ve yeterli olduğu kanısına varıldı.
