예비유아교사를 위한 도덕적 상상력 신장 프로그램 개발 및 적용

예비유아교사를 위한 교사교육은 유아교육 현장의 문제 상황을 상상해보며 윤리적 판단과 실천을 동기화할 수 있는 도덕적 상상력의 함양을 요구한다. 본 연구의 목적은 예비유아교사를 대상으로 도덕적 상상력 신장 프로그램을 개발하고 적용 결과를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 분석, 설계, 개발, 실행, 평가의 개발절차에 따라 선행연구와 관련 문헌을 고찰하여 이론적 준거를 설정하고, 예비유아교사 및 교사양성과정의 교사교육자들의 요구조사를 반영하여 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발된 프로그램은 전문가 자문을 거쳐 수정, 보완되었고, 프로그램의 모형에 따른 회기별 세부 교육활동이 최종 개발되었다. 개발된 도덕적 상상력 신장 프로그램은 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 예비유아교사 16명을 대상으로 8주, 15회기 동안 실행되었으며, 도덕판단력과 공감능력에 대한 사전ㆍ사후검사와 저널 등에 기초한 질적 분석을 통해 프로그램 적용 결과를 살펴보았다. 사전ㆍ사후검사 결과 도덕적 상상력 신장 프로그램은 예비유아교사의 도덕판단력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 예비유아교사들은 본 프로그램을 통해 도덕 감수성의 향상과 일상의 삶 안에서 공감과 배려의 변화를 경험하였고, 윤리적인 책무감을 지닌 유아교사로서 성장할 수 있는 기회가 되었음을 긍정적으로 평가하였다.

Pre-service early childhood teacher education requires the cultivation of moral imagination capable of synchronizing ethical judgment and practice, by imagining problematic situations in early childhood education. The study aims to develop and apply a teacher education program specifically designed to enhance the moral imagination of early childhood pre-service teachers. To do so, the study employed the ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Development-Implement-Evaluation) procedure and proposed a program based on the theories of moral imagination and the needs of pre-service teachers and teacher educators drawn from a questionnaire survey and individual interviews. The preliminary program was revised by expert consultation and developed into the final model of the Moral Imagination Program, which consisted of subsequent contents and activities organized into 15 sessions. To apply the Moral Imagination Program into teacher education, the program was implemented for eight weeks with 16 early childhood pre-service teachers enrolled in a university course. The program effects were verified through pre- and post-tests on moral judgement and empathy. In addition, journal writings and course materials were collected for qualitative analysis of student change during program participation. The results of the pre- and post-test showed that the Moral Imagination Program had a positive effect on pre-service early childhood teachers’ moral judgement. A further qualitative analysis revealed that the early childhood pre-service teachers improved their moral sensibility and engaged in empathy-focused interactions in their daily actions. Also, the program was positively conceived as a learning opportunity for becoming ethically responsive early childhood teachers.
