Abstract
The advantage of subsurface tillage with subsoiling to a depth of 30–35 cm compared to traditional plowing to a depth of 20–22 cm is revealed on irrigated heavy loam soils prone to compaction. The indices of the agrophysical properties of the plow and subsoil layers improve considerably with subsurface tillage, which promotes an increase of cultivated crop yield.
