Abstract

In this paper, we propose a nonlocal method for describing and studying temporal characteristics of input flows moving in space. Here, the intervals between the first arrivals of neighboring groups rather than between each neighboring—customers are used for description. Various heuristic algorithms are proposed that determine successive moments when the first customers from various groups actually arrive to the system and allow one to find their distribution. Such an approach to the description of input flows is shown to be effective for determining the distribution of real flows of various physical natures (for example, traffic flow).
