The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationships of school & cyber bullying and school & cyber bullying victimization of elementary school students, and to examine the mediating effects of their smartphone overdependence in these relationships. In the study, 642 4-6th students of four elementary schools in capital area were surveyed about their experiences regarding school & cyber bullying, school & cyber bullying victimization, and their level of smartphone overdependence. Collected data were analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling and multiple mediating effects based on smartphone overpendence were verified by boostrapping. Major results were as followings. First, school bullying victimization could increase cyber bullying victimization directly and indirectly. Second, school bullying victimization could exacerbate school and cyber bullying directly and/or indirectly. third, cyber bullying victimization could increase cyber bullying directly. Regrading mediating effects of smartphone overdependence over these relationships, smartphone overdependence was verified as a major variable mediating school & cyber bullying victimization and school and cyber bullying. The study indicate that the structure of school and cyber bullying as well as social and emotional problem such as smartphone overdependence should be considered when developing elementary school bullying prevention and intervention programs.
