이 연구는 전국의 장애인복지관 이용 장애성인을 대상으로 평생교육 참여 실태와 향후 참여할 평생교육 프로그램 운영에 대한 요구를 조사하고, 장애성인의 생애주기에 따른 차이를 분석하였다. 연구를 위해 장애인복지관에서 공급한 평생교육 프로그램 이용 경험이 있는 장애성인 390명을 연구대상으로 선정하였으며, 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애성인의 평생교육 참여 실태를 분석한 결과, 평생교육 참여경험은 ‘강사강좌’가 가장 많았으며, 평생교육 프로그램 참여기관은 ‘장애인복지관’이 가장 많았고, 프로그램 영역별 참여 개수는 ‘학력보완교육’이 가장 많았다. 또한 평생교육 프로그램 참여목적은 ‘행복감’이 가장 우선순위였고, 이에 대한 달성정도는 ‘매우 도움이 되었다.’는 응답이 가장 많았다. 둘째, 장애성인의 평생교육 프로그램 운영에 대한 요구를 분석한 결과, 향후 평생교육 프로그램 참여 의사는 ‘참여하고 싶다.’가 가장 높았으며, 참여 희망기관은 ‘장애인복지관’을 가장 선호하였고, 참여희망 영역은 ‘문화예술교육’이 가장 많았다. 다음으로 평생교육 프로그램 활성화를 위하여 ‘예산 지원 확대’를 가장 많이 요구하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 바탕으로 장애인 평생교육 활성화 방안에 대하여 몇 가지 논의하였다.

This study is designed to research on the situation of participation in the lifelong education and the demand for the operation of future lifelong educational program for the disabled adults using the nationwide community rehabilitation center for the disabled adults. For the research, 390 disabled adults having the experience of using the lifelong educational program supplied by the community rehabilitation center for the disabled were selected and the main results of the research are as follows. First, the analysis result of the disabled adults' participation in the lifelong education showed that most of them participated in the lifelong education of 'instructor lecture' in the form of education, 'community rehabilitation center" as the program participating organization and "academic ability supplementation education" in the number of participation for scope of program. In addition, the main objectives of participating in the lifelong program was "euphoria" and most of responses to the degree of achievement were "very helpful". Second, the analysis result of the demand for the operation of lifelong education program for the disabled adults showed that most of them showed that they "want to participate" in terms of the intention of participating in the future lifelong educational program, preferred "the community rehabilitation center" as the participating organization and most of them wanted to participated in the "culture-art education". Next, for the activation of lifelong education program, most of them wanted "expansion of support in budget" Based on the research results above, some methods of activating the lifelong education for the disabled were discussed.
