Abstract
The DFAA composition was analyzed over the course of one year, along with salinity, temperature, phytoplankton nutrients, chlorophyll and cell counts. Stepwise multiple linear regression on all variables indicated that the total dissolved free amino acids were only directly related to individual amino acid variations, and not the other variables measured. In the prediction of cell density, only silicate and chlorophyll were significant predictors. Individual amino acids may be more significant in blooms of a single species.
