Abstract

Runway plays pretty important role when taking account safe and comfort operation for passengers and staff at airport. Runway surface profiles have been measured using non-contact type profiler and vertical accelerations at pilot's station and center of gravity of aircraft have been simulated using wavelet analysis of measured runway surface profiles. It has found that longer wavelength of profile is effective to vertical accelerations, that correlate to riding comfort. Its effect of airplane type has been evaluated, and pavement maintenance procedures also have been evaluated under consideration of above results.
