본 연구는 청소년 봉사활동이 사회공동체성, 학교생활적응, 다문화수용도에 미치는 영향을 검증하여 청소년 봉사활동 참여의 중요성과 함의를 도출하고자 한다. 분석을 위해 2015년에 한국청소년정책연구원에서 실시한 ‘한국 청소년의 나눔 활동에 대한 조사’자료를 활용하였다. 분석방법으로 세 종속변수의 상호관계를 반영한 통합모형을 검증하기 위해 무관회귀분석(SUR; Seemingly Unrelated Regression)을 사용하였다. 독립변수인 청소년 봉사활동 참여의 영향을 검증한 결과를 살펴보면, 스스로 계획한 봉사 참여유형과 모든 봉사에 참여 유형이 봉사활동 미참여 유형과 비교하여 사회공동체성, 학교생활적응, 다문화 수용도 모두에 통계적으로 유의미한 긍정적(+) 영향요인으로 나타났다. 반면 학교봉사만 참여한 유형은 사회공동체성과 학교생활적응에 유의미하게 영향(+)을 미치지만 다문화수용도에는 영향이 없었다. 본 연구는 청소년의 자발적 봉사활동이 사회공동체성, 학교생활적응, 다문화수용도에 영향을 주었고 학교봉사만 참여한 경우는 다문화수용도에는 영향을 미치지 않았음을 검증하였다. 이를 통해 청소년 봉사활동의 필요성을 인식하였으며, 자발적 봉사참여를 촉진하는 청소년 자원봉사 문화 확산의 방향을 제시한다는 점에서 실천적 의미를 지닌다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of youth volunteering participation on sense of community, school adjustment, and multi-cultural acceptance. For the analysis, we used data from the 'Survey on the Sharing Activities of Korean Adolescent' conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute in 2015. As an analytical method, we used Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) analysis, which can verify and compare efficient estimates reflecting the interrelationship among three dependent variables. The result of this study are as follows: All types of volunteering and self-planned volunteering are statistically significant positive(+) factors on all dependent variables as compared with non-volunteering. On the other hand, participation in only school volunteer program has a significant effect on sense of community and school adjustment(+), while not affecting multi-cultural acceptance. This study verifies the effectiveness of youth volunteering and confirms its necessity through the results. This research has practical meaning in that it provides directions for the youth volunteering proliferation.
