Abstract

In this paper I introduce the political context of New Caledonia and the specificity of its institutions. Among which, the institutionalised massive transfers from France to its dependency. I then proceed on explaining my theoretical development that links industrial entrepreneurs and institutions to explain the process of economic change. Finally, I give a quick overview of the methodology I derived directly from my theory and the data that will be used.
