Abstract
Solvent extraction characteristics of Th, u, Np, Pu, Am and Cm ions of various oxidation states by ionizable crown ethers such as sym-dibenzo-16-crown-5-oxyacetic acid and sym-dibenzo-16-crown-oxy-acetylhydroxamic acid were studied. From results of pH-dependence of the distribution ratio of metal ions the ionizable crown ethers are promising for the application in the separation and preconcentration of actinide elements. The extracted species of Th{IV), U(VI) and Am(III) were confirmed to be Th(OH)2L2 (L; crown ether), UO2(OH)L and Am(OH)L2, respectively.
