본 연구의 목적은 ‘아동발달에 대한 가구소득의 영향이 소득의 수준에 따라 달라지는가?’, ‘가구소득의 영향은 아동발달 영역 간에 차이가 있는가?’에 대한 답을 얻는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 아동발달(학업성취도, 우울불안, 공격성)에 대한 포괄적인 조사 자료를 제공하고 있는 우리나라의 대표적인 패널조사인 한국복지패널(아동부가조사), 한국청소년패널, 서울 아동패널을 분석하였다. 또한 본 연구에서 활용한 구체적인 분석방법은 다중회귀분석과 산점도 분석이다. 분석결과, 학업성취도에 대한 가구소득의 영향은 세 가지 패널자료의 분석 모두에서 저소득층에 집중되어 나타나는 모습을 보인 반면, 고소득층으로 갈수록 소득의 영향이 사라지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 즉 학업성취도에 대한 가구소득의 영향은 소득의 수준에 따라 다르게 나타나, 이른바 소득의 비선형적인 영향을 확인할 수 있었다. 우울불안과 공격성 역시, 소득의 영향이 저소득층에 집중되는 경향을 보였으나 모든 패널조사의 분석에서 소득의 영향이 일관된 모습을 보이지는 않았다. 이러한 분석결과는 이 분야 연구의 이론적 지평을 넓히는데 기여할 수 있으며, 빈곤아동을 대상으로 한 정책과 프로그램의 정당성과 효율성에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to get answers to ‘Does the impact of family income on child development depend on the level of income?’ and ‘Does the impact of family income differ between child development areas?’For this purpose, this study analyzed Korea Welfare Panel Study, Korea Youth Panel Survey, and Seoul Panel Study of Children, which are representative panel survey of Korea that provides comprehensive survey data on child development. The analysis method used in this study is multiple regression and scatter plot analysis. The results showed that the effect of family income on academic achievement was concentrated in low-income families in all three panel data, but the effect of income on high-income earners disappeared. In other words, the effect of family income on academic achievement varies according to income level. These results show the nonlinear effects of income. Depression Anxiety and aggression also showed that the impact of income tended to be concentrated on the low-income group, but the analysis of all panel surveys did not show consistent effects of income. The results of this analysis can contribute to the theoretical development of this field of study and contribute to the legitimacy and efficiency of policies and programs for poor children.
