KARAKTER MADU LEBAH HUTAN (Apis dorsata Fabr.) DARI BERBAGAI BIOREGION DI RIAU

Abstract


Karakteristik madu dari lebah hutan Apis dorsata yang berasal dari bioregion di Riau belum dipelajari secara intensif. Penelitian ini mempelajari karakteristik madu dari lebah hutan dari bioregion di Riau berdasarkan pada Standar nasional Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan September 2015 hingga November 2015. Sedikitnya tiga sampel madu hutan diambil sebagai ulangan pada setiap bioregionnya dan dianalisis berdasarkan prosedur dari SNI 8664-2018. Enam bioregion dimana sampel madu diambil adalah hilir dan pesisir pantai (Kabupaten Bengkalis dan Selat Panjang), hutan dengan tanah mineral (Kabupaten Kampar), hutan rawa gambut (Kabupaten Pelalawan), aliran sungai (Kabupaten Rokan Hilir), hutan tanaman (Kabupaten Siak), dan perkebunan kelapa sawit dan karet (Kabupaten Kuansing). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang nyata antar bioregion terhadap mayoritas parameter pada SNI 8664-2018. Akan tetapi, parameter gula reduksi dan kadar air pada seluruh sampel menunjukkan bahwa madu hutan yang diteliti tidak memenuhi persyaratan SNI 8664-2018. Lebih lanjut, jenis dan ukuran polen yang terdapat pada sampel madu dapat dijadikan metode untuk penentuan asal usul madu berdasar bioregionnya.
