Abstract:
In recent years different trials have been carried out at different locations to study the behaviour of the banana plant with respect to different quantities of water applied through drip-trickle irrigation, once the water requirements of the banana plant had been determined. The total annual evapotranspiration values of the crop, calculated using drainage lysimeters increased up to 1,038.06 mm, the minimum and maximum values being registered in April and September respectively, ranging from 1.4 to 5.0 mm day-1. Both Dwarf Cavendish and Grande Naine under different climatic conditions were evaluated in this experiment. Different parameters were studied to see the limits at which the crop response was minimised, in terms of production, evaluating the components of loss from the system and to determine the role that these functions represent in the water balance.
