Summary of measurements

-Calibration of ME70 echosounder in the Bay of Douarnenez for several multibeam configurations.
-Acquisition of acoustic data from the ER60 (18, 38, 70, 120 and 200 kHz) and of the ME70 in several configurations.
-Acoustic data collected on a) aggregations of large herring aggregations in the English Channel, b) mackerel aggregations, shoals of horse mackerel and sardines on the edges of the shelf and c) small shoals of horse mackerel in Southern Brittany.
-The HERMES (Hydroacoustic Echo Remoting Module for Echo Sounders) software was validated for the configuration of ER60 and ME70 echosounders, archiving of data in HAC format and dissemination of data on the shipboard network.
-Deployment of IMR SurveyTrawl bottom trawl: validation of shooting/turning maneuvers and determining the point at which the trawl doors operate to ensure the geometric stability of the fishing gear.
-While trawling, deployment of the EROC (towed trawl observation vehicle) equipped with an ER60 200 kHz acoustic payload. The acoustic data collected by the payload and that collected by the hull-mounted echosounders were compared.
-During the trawling, the wireless MARPORT trawl sounder was tested. Trial carried out in the framework of examining a replacement for the current OSSIAN500 system.
-Offshore from the continental shelf, acquisition of acoustic data on deep ocean volume reverberation.
-Following the overhauls of the casing of the RV Thalassa's echosounder in September 2005, the SABRINA software used to control hull-mounted sounder emission levels was upgraded.
