Objective We were looking for a protected working area to carry out impact studies of fishing gear on seabeds (CPER). The bay of Quiberon was chosen. The first part of the cruise used sidescan sonar to map the two study zones characterized by different substrates (mud and sand). The second part was devoted to acquiring measurements from an instrument sledge which modeled the otter board shoeplates. The related project is CPER 2000-2006 Physical impact of fishing gear on seabeds programme.
