중국 칭다오(靑島) 조선족의 정착 애로와 딜레마 : 자영업자들에 대한 구술 자료를 중심으로 :자영업자들에 대한 구술 자료를 중심으로

본고의 목적은 중국 칭다오 자영업자의 일상적 삶을 중심으로 조선족의 신흥이주지 정착의 애로와 딜레마를 내러티브 연구방법(narrative approach)으로 살펴보는 데 있다. 칭다오의 조선족사회는 국가(혹은 국적)경계와 민족경계, 지역(공간)경계, 문화경계가 다중적으로 설정, 작동됨으로써 상호간 경합과 타협, 갈등이 상존해 왔다.
칭다오 조선족들은 소수민족과 동북3성 이주민이라는 점에서 민족과 지역 차별의 중층적 차별을 경험했다. 칭다오 조선족들은 언어와 문화 차이로 인해 현지인과 한국인 모두로부터 무시당하거나 때로는 오해를 받음으로써 갈등의 원인이 되기도 한다. ‘산둥(山東)말’로 표현되는 지방어(사투리)는 토박이(현지인)와 이방인(외지인)을 확연히 구별되게 만듦으로써 일상생활에서 무시와 차별, 배타성의 근원이 된다. 같은 민족이면서 동일 언어를 사용하는 한국기업의 노동현장에서는 국적을 달리하는 생활환경에서 살아온 문화 차이로 인해 때론 오해와 갈등을 경험한다. 칭다오 조선족들은 ‘민족정체성’과 ‘현지사회의 적응’이라는 가치 사이에서 어린 자녀들의 학교 선택에 대해 많은 고민을 하고 있다. 조선족은 한국기업에 취업하거나 창업 등으로 민족적 네트워크를 활용한 바탕에서 비즈니스 활동에 비약적인 발전을 이루었다. 하지만 중국 내 기업환경의 변화로 인해 한국기업과 한국인이 차츰 이탈함으로써 민족자원의 약화로 인해 경쟁력을 상실해가고 있다. 주류사회 다수 종족인 한족과 경쟁해야 하면서 동시에 동종업계 조선족들과도 동일한 자원을 두고 다투어야 하는 입장이다.
칭다오 조선족이 당면한 이상의 정착 애로와 딜레마는 자영업자에만 국한되지 않는 전체 조선족에 해당되는 사안이다. 이를 극복하고 도심 속의 새로운 삶터를 굳건히 건설해나가기 위한 방안을 하루 빨리 강구할 필요가 있다.

The aim of this article is to examine difficulties and dilemmas for settlement of Chinese-Korean[Chosun-jok] in Quindao, China. For this, I payed attention to daily lives of self-employed small businessmen by a narrative approach. In the society of Chinese-Korean in Qingdao, there have been always contests, compromises and conflicts because of complex coming across state(or nationality) borders, ethnic borders, regional borders and cultural borders etc..
Chinese-Korean in Qingdao have been experienced complex discriminative treatment account of different race and native place, being a minority of race and an emigrant from east-north province. They have been ignored or mistaken, troubled with others for the reason of language and culture. A dialect, calling "Sandung language", was the reason of difference between a native and a stranger, and therefore they have been ignored, treated discriminatively and excluded in daily lives. In Korean factories in Qingdao, though Korean and Chinese-Korean were same in race and language, there have been occasionally mistaken and troubled with each other owing to different cultures. They have been front of troubles about selection of school between maintenance of national identity and adaptation in majority society. As Korean factories and Korean have been gradually break away from Qingdao, their national capital has been reduced to much and therefore competitive power has been weakened.
Now, they are confronted by competition with Chinese majority and also with themselves of Chinese-Korean in Qingdao for same resources. These difficulties and dilemmas for settlement are faced up to not only self-employed small businessmen but also to all Chinese-Korean in Qingdao. The way for conquest of these difficulties and dilemmas and for construction of a new settlement community in Qingdao should be planned for the future.
