Abstract: We conducted magnetotelluric surveys on the eastern flank of Usu Volcano. Analyses of the induction vector and 2-D resistivity inversion along the NNE-SSW direction have been performed. The overall structure of this area is characterized by horizontally stratified resistivity of H-L-H-L from surface to depths. A distinct low-resistivity body lies beneath the Showa-Shinzan lava dome at 2-3 km deep, below which an isolated high-resistivity body has been estimated.
