Abstract: The effect of probiotic on growth performance in growing-finishing pig was conducted with 30 PIC pigs(45 kg), which were randomly divided into three groups(A, B and C), supplemented with basal diet, basal diet + antibiotic and basal diet + probiotic, respectively. The trial divided into two parts(45~70 kg, 31 d; 70~90 kg, 24 d). The results showed that in stage one, the ADG and ADFI in group B and C were greater than that in group A by 6.17%(P>0.05), 1.23%(P>0.05) and 11.94%(P>0.05), 12.94%(P>0.05) respectively. In stage two, the ADG and ADFI in group B and C were greater than that in group A by 16.46%(P>0.05), 22.78%(P<0.05) and 16.38%(P<0.05), 15.13%(P<0.05) respectively. The FCR in group B and C was lower than that in group A by 5.96%(P>0.05) and 10.03%(P>0.05). In the whole trial period, the ADG and ADFI in group B and C were greater than that in group A by 11.11%(P>0.05), 12.35%(P>0.05) and 14.29%(P>0.05), 14.29%(P>0.05) respectively, andthe FCR in these three groups were approximated. It is suggested that both antibiotic and probiotic could improve the growth performance of growing-finishing pig effectively, and the probiotic could be a viable alternative to antibiotic.
