Short-step syntheses of homodolicholide 1 and homodolichosterone 2 are described. An (E)- geometry of their C (24)=C (28) double bond was established. Transformation reactions of the epoxyring were applied to the syntheses, as wasdone in our syntheses of brassinolide and its related compounds.
