This paper introduces the system developed for extracting small blocks of power from a transmission line through electromagnetic effects. The mathematical models of the line and isolated conductor with the use of transverse admittance matrices for studies of isolated coil positioning are described. These models have been implemented in computer programs to test various operational situations. Studies of the best control structure of energy withdrawn through a system of power electronics to real lines in TBE—Brazilian Energy Transmission are also described as well, actual measurements made on a real 525 kV transmission line.
