ABSTRACT
A panel of distinguished computing practitioners and legal computer experts will discuss the concepts of liability, product liability, and software liability as they might affect a data processing professional in the 1980's. Panelists will address the ideas of error free programs, adequate documentation and testing, and how these techniques might relate to the principles of reasonable care. Malpractice, the nonreferral ruling, precedents, and licensing will also be discussed as they relate to liability.
