Abstract
On the basis of the results of long-term studies in the waterbodies and watercourses of Mongolian part of the Selenga River basin, the paper summarizes data on nonindigenous species of fish. It was revealed that alien species account for 19.2% of the fish fauna of the whole basin. The majority of alien species were intentionally introduced in the basin and spread over its territory. The Selenga River played the role of an invasion corridor for the process of range expansion. The data on the history of invasions and spread of nonindigenous species are given.
