Abstract

Three heuristic approaches are used to derive analytical formulas that represent the solution to the 2D problem of the diffraction of electromagnetic wave by a truncated wedge. The results of numerical calculations are based on the analytical formula. The solutions are analyzed, and advantages and disadvantages are discussed. It is demonstrated that only the solution derived using the method of generalized eikonal makes it possible to describe the scattered field when the dimensional parameter uniformly tends to zero.
