Abstract
A simple mathematical model developed previously for the description of processes in electron beam generators based on high-voltage glow discharge with runaway electrons (open discharge) has been used to express the dependence of the discharge current on the applied voltage. The influence of the gas type on the character of discharge has been analyzed, and the obtained dependences are compared to experimental data.
