Abstract
The applicability boundaries of the restoration method for the temporal shape of an optical signal having an intensity varying with frequency ω larger than the inverse lifetime of majority carriers are studied. Theoretical studies of distortions emerging upon the detection of modulated optical signals are performed. Parameters characteristic of a photodetector fabricated on the basis of Si with In recombination centers are used in the calculations. An increase in ω decreases the nonlinear, frequency, and phase distortions. The conclusions can be used to study periodic processes of another nature.
