Abstract
Archival data of measurements of the spectral atmospheric transparency and directional scattering coefficients in southeast Kazakhstan are analyzed. The results of the solution of the radiative transfer equation for the suggested atmospheric radiation model are used to study the diurnal variations of the aerosol optical depth. The data are separated into three basic groups corresponding to the stability of the atmospheric optical parameters, the gradual increase of turbidity with a decrease of the atmospheric mass, and jumplike variations of the aerosol optical depth. The observational data are analyzed taking into account the effects of absorption, multiple scattering, and reflection from the underlying surface.
