Abstract
The use of water resources of the Novosibirsk Reservoir by the existing water management complex is analyzed at different stages of reservoir operation. The natural and anthropogenic factors that determine the development of reservoir water resources for water supply, a priority objective now, are discussed. The problems of water quality formation in the reservoir are considered for different hydrological seasons and periods of water abundance in the major river. The major contradictions between the participants of water management system are specified. Perspective approaches for optimizing the use of water resources of the reservoir are proposed.
