About the taxonomic status of rare fish species Surinam tripletail Lobotes surinamensis (Lobotidae) and new discovery of this species in Russian waters

Abstract

Supposition about the existence of two species of genus Lobotes in the western Pacific is expressed based on the study of collection material (n = 9). Description of all discoveries of Lobotes surinamensis in Peter the Great Bay (Sea of Japan) is given.
