Abstract
A new tribe, Palaeomallerini Legalov, trib. nov. (type genus Palaeomallerus gen. nov.), new genera, Extinctocentrinus Legalov, gen. nov. (type species E. brevirostris sp. nov.), Lithogeraeus Legalov, gen. nov. (type species L. greenriverensis sp. nov.), and Palaeomallerus Legalov, gen. nov. (type species P. longirostris sp. nov.), and new species, Extinctocentrinus brevirostris Legalov, sp. nov., Geraeus anvilis Legalov, sp. nov., G. fossilis Legalov, sp. nov., Nicentrus curvirostris Legalov, sp. nov., Lithogeraeus greenriverensis Legalov, sp. nov., and Palaeomallerus longirostris Legalov, sp. nov. from the Early–Middle Eocene of the Green River are described. New combinations of names are established: Geraeus diruptus (Scudder, 1893), comb. nov., G. antediluviana (Wickham, 1916), comb. nov., G. hoveyi (Wickham, 1912), comb. nov., G. hypogaeus (Wickham, 1916), comb. nov., G. matura (Scudder, 1893), comb. nov., G. obnuptus (Scudder, 1893), comb. nov., G. schucherti (Wickham, 1912), comb. nov., G. vulcanicus (Wickham, 1912), comb. nov., Lithogeraeus circumscripta (Scudder, 1893), comb. nov., L. ancilla (Scudder, 1893), comb. nov., L. comminute (Scudder, 1893), comb. nov., L. cremastorhynchoides (Wickham, 1913), comb. nov., L. damnata (Scudder, 1893), comb. nov., L. florissantensis (Wickham, 1913), comb. nov., L. nearctica (Wickham, 1916), comb. nov., L. primalis (Wickham, 1917), comb. nov., and L. renovata (Wickham, 1916), comb. nov. The first fossil specimens of the supertribe Conoderitae in the Early Eocene, and the genera Geraeus and Nicentrus in the fossil state are recorded.
