X-RAY STANDING WAVES LOCALIZED ON THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN THE CRYSTAL SUPERLATTICE AND THE FILM

Abstract

Localized X-ray standing waves in a nanostructure composed of a crystal superlattice and a crystal film are studied by numerical simulations. These waves are spatially localized near the superlattice/film interface. The properties of such waves and their prospects in experimental studies of the superlattice/film interface are discussed. It is shown that the resonance excitation of localized standing waves occurs only for certain thicknesses of the superlattice layer bordering the film as well as for certain values of the crystal lattice constant of this layer. For these reasons, the properties of such standing waves depend on the structure of the superlattice/film interface and on the structure of the near-boundary superlattice layer.
