Abstract

The Bohemian Massif, representing the easternmost part of the European Variscides, is characterized by numerous Variscan, late-Variscan and post-Variscan vein mineralization types, but only some Sn-W vein-type mineralizations, Cu-Mo occurrences and some Au-mineralizations have close spatial and temporal relationship to the Variscan magmatic and/or metamorphic events. For other types of Variscan, late-Variscan and post-Variscan vein mineralizations (e.g. sulfide, uranium, barite, fluorite-barite mineralizations) their direct genetic relation to the Variscan magmatism and metamorphism is, with respect to large time spans, generally much less clear. Geochemical tools (C, O, S, Sr, and Pb isotopes, fluid inclusions) were used to estimate hydrothermal fluid sources and conditions of ore deposition of selected sulfide, uranium, fluorite and barite mineralization types.
