Abstract

Two new fossil species of Laelius (Ashmead, 1893) from Rovno amber are described and illustrated. Laelius rovnensis Barbosa & Azevedo sp. nov. is characterized by having the clypeus with anterior margin angulate, the pronotal disc with series of foveae posteriorly, the mesoscutum with notauli, the forewing with radial vein longer than basal vein; Laelius preteritus Barbosa & Azevedo sp. nov. is characterized by having the clypeus with anterior margin straight, the pronotal disc without series of foveae posteriorly, the mesoscutum without notauli, the forewing with radial vein longer than basal vein. The presence of forewing with radial vein longer than basal vein is newly reported to fossil species of Laelius, and is possibly indicates that such condition is ancient in the genus. A key to the fossil species of Laelius is provided.
