Abstract
A new class of sequences with three-valued zero correlation zone (TVZCZ) is presented on the basis of mutually orthogonal sets of ZCZ sequences. By means of the interleaving operation, the proposed TVZCZ sequence set can be divided into multiple sequence groups with each sequence group containing several sequence subgroups, which assures that the presented TVZCZ sequences can obtain three different ZCZ values, namely inter-group zero cross-correlation zone (ZCCZ), inter-subgroup ZCCZ, and intra-subgroup ZCCZ having the same value with zero auto-correlation zone (ZACZ). Compared with bi-valued zero correlation zone (BVZCZ) sequences, the constructed TVZCZ sequences have greater flexibility with regard to the tradeoff between correlation properties and set size, and hence are more suitable for multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems.
