Abstract
The goal of the article is to analyze, using computer simulations, the profile of surface and bulk ultrasonic waves generated by pulse shaped sources acting onto the separation surface between metallic and fluid media. It is well known that a short excitation induces on a solid surface, in contact with a gas or liquid, a dynamic displacement whose parameters: amplitude or velocity could be measured using piezoelectric sensors or laser based interferometric devices. However, the internal elastodynamic field inside metallic bodies can not be easily experimentally evaluated, the computer simulations being maybe the only method able to visualize bulk elastic perturbations.
