(E)-2,2,5,5-Tetramethyl-3,4-diphenylhex-3-ene, C₂₂H₂₈

In the title compound, an unusually short central C=C bond observed at room temperature is shown to be an artifact by a measurement at low temperatures. The phenyl planes are perpendicular to the plane of the double bond.
