Rotational and spin-orbit distributions of photochemically desorbed molecules

Abstract

A simple impulsive model for rotational excitation in photodesorption, combined with a two-level model Hamiltonian to describe hybridization of spin-orbit states, is found to explain the final state rotational and spin-orbit distributions of most photodesorption systems studied.
