Abstract

The authors calculated values for the ratios of the double-electron to main-line strengths with their corresponding excitation energies for the LN4,5 edges of elements found in the sixth row of the Periodic Table. In addition, the approximate analytical forms for the relative intensities in terms of monopole matrix elements are also given. A comprehensive view of double-electron processes which affect extended x-ray-absorption fine structure analysis of elements in the sixth row is obtained.
