Abstract
The rounding in the ultrasonic attenuation in pure vanadium in magnetic fields near the upper critical field is interpreted as due to the excess sound attenuation associated with the fluctuation of the superconducting order parameter. It is shown that the field dependence of the rounding is well described in terms of scaling theory.
