Abstract

It is predicted that baryon trajectories continue to rise for quite large energies. The ρ Regge amplitude, along with the direct-channel contribution written in the Khuri representation, gives excellent fits to the polarization and the differential cross-section data, even though the elasticity factors involved are quite small. At a given energy W, the direct-channel contribution is predominantly imaginary and comes mainly from partial waves in the neighborhood of JReα(W).
