Abstract

We develop a formalism for calculating the effects of nonlocal elasticity and thermal fluctuations on the dynamics of uniformly translating flux-line lattices in the presence of an electric field. Our work is a generalization of the work of Brandt on static phenomena to the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau theory. We present results for the order parameter and magnetic flux density of an isotropic superconductor in the flux-flow regime. We also find a new nonlocal elastic term in the free energy of the lattice due to the presence of the electric field.
