Abstract
The Raman spectra of stage-1 and -2 graphite-lithium intercalation compounds are reported. The spectra show a sharp line at ∼ 1600 near the position of the graphite optic mode and a broad continuum from ∼ 1000 to ∼ 4000 which can be correlated with the two-phonon Raman spectrum of graphite. Particular emphasis is given to the similarities and differences of Raman spectra in graphite-lithium compounds as compared with other donor and acceptor intercalation compounds.
