Phase estimation for an SU(1,1) interferometer in the presence of phase diffusion and photon losses

Abstract

We address SU(1,1) interferometry in the presence of phase diffusion and photon losses and evaluate analytically the corresponding quantum Fisher information. Using this result we determine the thresholds on the noise parameters, as a function of total mean photon number, in order to beat the standard quantum limit to phase sensitivity.
