Abstract

Radiative lifetimes in the B I 2s2ns2S (n<~7) and 2s2nd2D (n<~6) sequences have been measured employing selective laser excitation at vacuum ultraviolet wavelengths. Theoretical calculations were performed using the multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock method. In particular the effect of configuration interaction with the sequence perturbers 2s2p22S and 2D was studied.
